Interview with Omer Neutra’s Parents - prior to the news of his killing by Hamas
Omer Neutra, a 21-year-old Israeli-American citizen, was one of hundreds of victims of the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel on October 7th. Omer Neutra’s parents had believed for more than a year that their son was alive and being held captive by Hamas. On Nov 21st, they spoke at length with Voice of America about their hopes, expectations, and actions. Just days later, on December 2nd, it was announced that their son had been killed by the Hamas terrorist group that same day, October 7th, and his body had been taken. Omer Neutra’s parents provided VOA with the following statement after the Israeli military announced the news: “Omer’s remains are still in captivity. All 101 hostages must be returned as soon as possible; the living for rehabilitation and the dead for a proper burial by their families.” What you are watching is an interview with the Voice of America Persian Service with Orna Neutra and Ron Neutra, Omer's mother and father, when they were still waiting for their son to return.
