The next segment discussed the recent student protests and arrests in Iran with phoner guest Mr. Mehdi Arabshahi, student activist from inside Iran. The last segment discussed medical aspects of irregular sleeping habits.

News and Views continued its reporting on the situation in Bolivia, where last week the US ambassador was forced to leave.There was also an update on the US financial crisis that threatens to upset global markets.NaV andvanced its coverage on the situation in Georgia, reporting that Russia’s foreign secretary talked about creating “transparent borders” around the breakaway region. On set is Farah Salamat, Real Estate and Investment Consultant on set to discuss the US housing slump, the federal bailout of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and soaring property values in Iran. Also NaV was joined by Ann Somerset from the State Dept.

Roundtable hosts Dr. Ahmad Karimi Hakkak, from the University of Maryland’s center for Persian Studies. He’s in the DC studio and will discuss what the center does and their upcoming conference on minority religions in Iran.
