As a listener of your program & an Iranianl filmmker I want to inform you & your listener about the screening of my film 'Chrysalis'.
At the same time of workig on 'American Burqa' (http://www.AmericanBurqa.com) I finished the post production of CHRYSALYS which will be shown on Wednesday, April 23 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, April 26 at 6 p.m. at the Gene Siskel Film Center, 164 North State Street in Chicago.
'Chrysalis' is a 30 minute film about the immigrant experience. Through the eyes of an Iranian woman, named Iran, living in Chicago.
A dedicated teacher educated in her homeland and in America, she finds herself caught in an economic crises which forces her to take a job in the beauty salon of a fellow Iranian.
Now she must learn how to disguise her cultural idenity in order not to 'offend' American clients of the salon. And she must begin to re-evaluate her previous conceptions about her adopted country.
