News and Views continues its coverage of the global financial situation, with an emphasis of how decreasing oil prices are affecting Iran’s economy. Live on the phone from Paris to discuss is international oil consultant Dr. Parviz Mina. We’ll also report that several former heads of European governments visiting central Iran say that democratic reform is the best way for Tehran to break out of international isolation. Their remarks were made Wednesday while on a trip to central Iran to show support for their host, former Iranian president Mohammad Khatami.
Also covered at reports that the US has new intelligence indicating Iran is reorganizing in an effort to assert its influence inside Iraq and may be behind several recent attacks, according to a senior U.S. official.
