The next segment will discuss the demonstration protesting Ahmadinejad's appearance at the United Nations with phoner guest Ahmad Batabi, political activist based near Washington. The following segment will discuss a weblog about an Iranian woman seeking political asylum in Sweden. The last segment will discuss the role of women voters in the upcoming presidential election.

News and Views offers comprehensive coverage of Iran's president appearance at the U.N. General Assembly today, with live reports from the UN. There’s an interview with Nobel laureate and Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel who urged the UN to indict Ahmadinejad for inciting genocide rather than allow him to speak at the U.N. General Assembly.
Also covered are the thousands of demonstrators gathered in front of UN headquarters yesterday in the first of several rallies to protest against the presence of president Ahmadinejad.
We’ll also discuss Ahmadinejad’s interview with National Public Radio where he explains his comments that he would like to see Israel wiped off the map.
