Today’s woman will focus on Condoleezza Rice's recent statement to the United Nations regarding domestic violence. The remainder of the show will discuss the life, point of views, and performances of our guest Ms. Niloofar Beyzaie, author and playwright who will be joining us from Germany. Five short packages of her work will be featured.

News & Views: The latest U.N. figures show that over 11 million people are refugees, those who have fled their homes and over international borders. Another 26 million people are displaced within their own countries. And the U.N. says their numbers are rising, mostly due to conflict and instability. Our UN correspondent will report on UNHCR’s findings, and NaV has live from London Sherif el-Sayed Ali, one of Amnesty International's refugee experts. We will also have our Irbil, Iraq stringer to report on the refugee situation in Northern Iraq. There is also an original package about refugees from the Jordanian borderIsrael carried out a major military exercise earlier this month that American officials say appeared to be a rehearsal for a potential bombing attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities. We will have Israeli journalist Menesh Amir live on the phone to offer background on these reports. NaV will cover reports that Iranian President Ahmadinejad on Thursday accused the US of plotting to kidnap and assassinate him during a visit to Iraq.

Roundtable host’s Dr. Behzad Raofi, from California’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He’s live in the DC studio to talk about NASA’s Mars exploration.

Late Edition features reporting on World Refugee Day, the Presidential Medal of Freedom recipients, a story about the Chinese version of Sex in the City TV show, and a sports segment.

Newstalk features a review of the week in US foreign Policy. Topics include President Bush’s trip to Europe, EU sanctions on Iran, the Israeli/Hamas truce, and Israel’s military exercises.
