Today’s Woman features and update on the Shiraz blast, as well a discussion of the role of celebrities in society: what positive and negative roles do they have, and what responsibility do celebrities have towards society.

News and Views covers reports that a blast in a mosque in southern Iran that killed at least 10 people on Saturday was not an attack and was probably caused by negligence. Dr. Reza Taghizadeh, professor of political science at Glasgow University, Scotland, will join us live on the phone to comment on this developing story. Mr Shahid will be on the phone from Paris to give us reaction from that region. We will also have interviews from within Iran with people close to the scene. The broadcast also reports Iran announced on Sunday that a meeting scheduled to take place on Monday between the head of its nuclear agency and the chief of the United Nations nuclear watchdog has been postponed. Iranian Nobel Peace Prize laureate and human rights lawyer Shirin Ebadi said on Monday the number of threats made against her and her family had increased in recent months. NaV will have an interview with Ms. Ebadi on these matters.

Roundtable’s guest is Iraj Adibzadeh, Iranian French Journalist and sports Analyst. He will be live via remote from Paris, France to discuss the 2008 Summer Olympics, and international reaction to China hosting the event. Roundtable will have an update at the top of the show from Alireza Nourizadeh on the latest regarding the Shiraz blast.

Late Edition covers the most recent reports out of Shiraz regarding the explosion there, and the program will offer a preview of the Pope’s visit to Washington DC.

Newstalk will feature Elahe Hicks live via NY, and Human Rights Activist Kianoosh Sanjari, in the DC Studio. The topic will be a discussion of the latest human rights news from Iran. We will also have analysis of the Shiraz explosion.
